Inspired by early Gospel legends of the 80s and '90s, Vanessa grew up in her local church where her father pastor - Outreach Church of God in Christ. She cultivated her silky-smooth vocals in her gospel choir in her hometown of Harvey, IL, where she still sings and direct every Sunday morning.
